Anodizing

Anodizing Coating , Anodizing Process

Anodizing is an electrochemical process in which an oxide surface layer is coated on a metal surface. The anodizing process helps in resisting wear and tear while also retaining the cosmetic/aesthetic appearance of the component in consideration.

The most common types of anodizing are Type I (Chromic Acid Anodize), Type II (Sulfuric Acid Anodize) and Type III, also known as Hardcoat.

Advantages

  • Wide range of applications such as aircraft, consumer goods, electronics etc.
  • Highly durable
  • Corrosion/Abrasion/Thermal resistant
  • Coating application is thin, but long-lasting
